Blue Stripes in Lexington

We had some errands to run in Lexington this past weekend, so we decided to head up early and make a day of it, starting with the most important meal of the day – breakfast at Shakespeare and Co.

I had been to Shakespeare’s before, but Joe hadn’t. It’s always fun when I get to show him something about his hometown. Shakespeare’s started in the UAE and has the most adorable decor. All of the furniture is imported from Dubai. Not only is the interior adorable, but the food is delicious. Plus, you can order WHATEVER you want from the menu, WHENEVER you want. I was a bit more traditional since it was before 10:00am, but Joe branched out and got the bourbon burger (though I may have snuck a few fries).

Afterward, we hit the streets to walk off our delicious food. The weather was perfect for this striped, sleeveless blouse from White House Black Market that I picked up at the end of last summer. I’m happy to see it’s still the perfect piece for spring. Vertical stripes are everywhere right now and this blue hue screams “warm weather.”

Even though this piece is a little older, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite blue pieces I’m currently considering buying – like this similar mutton sleeved blouse from White House Black Market, this embroidered cotton blouse from Express, or this off the shoulder top from Express (and did I mention both of the tops from Express are 30% off until Thursday!!).

I love this look and can’t wait to pick up a few more pieces. Are there any you’ve particularly liked?
