Countdown to Derby \\ Part II

Derby2 (6) (640x427)

Dress (similar here) \\ Heels (wedge version here, similar here) \\ Fascinator (borrowed,  similar here) \\ St. John’s bracelet (similar here)

We’re five days away from the races, and I couldn’t be more excited. This week is going to be absolutely crazy, between all the derby activities and appointments I’ve made to make sure I’m Oaks ready!

Derby2 (7) (640x427)Derby2 (12) (640x427)Derby2 (13) (640x427)While last week I showed off a spring derby look, this week I thought I’d showcase derby looks that are a little bolder, chicer, and sexier! I love the lace detail of this dress over the nude slip, and the cut out midsection adds that extra pizzazz, showing some skin without really showing some skin.

Although this dress is older, this dress is nearly identical, while this dress and this dress offer a similar style with the lace applique. And this one takes the “sexy” factor up a notch! Even if you’re not going to derby, any of these would be great option for a night out on the town.

I added these black strappy heels to make the look more elegant, with a bold red lip (but make sure you find a long wearing lipstick – you’ll be out there all day sipping champagne). Although these heels are older, they currently come in a wedge version from the same brand. If you’re set on a heel, these are similar, and I love these block heel ones as well! My friend, Mal, so kindly let me borrow this fascinator to complete the look. She added the peacock feather herself, and it turned out simply gorgeous. It’s a great example of making something your own without spending a ton of money!
