Wedding Day Makeup Products

You guys – it takes a village when it comes to wedding makeup. Shout out to all the makeup artists out there who do this for a living! I didn’t want to hire someone I had never used before, so I’ve been practicing nonstop to do my own makeup for the big day.Wed (6) (800x533) I learned the general method I’ll be using through this YouTube video, but have subbed in some of my own favorites products. Here they all are (and yes, there are a lot. Like I said . . . a village).

Primer  \\ Finishing Spray \\ PowderWed (10) (800x533)

Clinique Pep-Start \\ I’ve already spoken extensively about this here, so I’ll just say that it should come as no surprise that this is how I’ll be priming my face for the big day.

RCMA No Color Translucent Powder \\ This powder is a great and cheap (only $12) face setting powder. I’ve been using it for the past 6 months almost every day and I’m no where near the end of the bottle. The packaging is terrible, so I bought this container from Amazon so I could use it without spilling it everywhere.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray \\ It took me a long time to decide on a setting spray. I need my makeup to last all day and through a boat ride after all! After reading a ton of reviews, I decided on this and I really liked it on all my test runs. It made my makeup last for a really long time.

FoundationWed (800x533)

Make-up Forever Ultra HD Foundation \\ This was another hard, and arguably the most important, choice! I had a ton of options I almost chose instead. The Hourglass Vanishing Stick Foundation has amazing reviews, and the Dior Skin Forever has recently been raved about. But in the end, I went with this classic. What sealed the deal? I asked a Makeup Artist her opinion when I was getting my makeup done for a friends wedding and this is what she recommended.

Concealer Wed (4) (800x533)

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer \\ This was an easy choice because this concealer is raved about by every beauty influencer and it lives up to the hype. I got two shades, light-medium and light, and will mix them together under the eye and for any last minute  face blemishes that decide to appear.

Eye Shadow \\ Eye Liner Pencil \\ Gel Liner \\ Mascara \\ False LashesWed (9) (800x533)

Eye Shadows (Makeup Geek \\ M.A.C.) \\ Without a doubt, I am most nervous to do my eye makeup on the big day. I don’t have a lot of experience doing my eyes, but I’m going to be trying a natural brown smokey eye. I have been practicing a ton, so I have some hope that with a little patience and blending it will work out. I’m so apprehensive about this part that I literally copied every eye shadow Jaclyn Hill used in this video.

Maybelline Line Express Eye Liner \\ I picked up this black eye liner pencil from the drug store and it works great. I won’t be doing heavy liner, so I didn’t feel the need to spend a ton of money on this product.

Maybelline Eye Express Gel Liner \\ Another great drug store purchase. Again, this product will not be applied heavily, but I have to say, the formula is really great and it does glide right on, which is perfect because I am not great with gel liner.

Dior Show Mascara \\ Okay, okay, I will admit. This is probably unnecessarily expensive. But I really love this mascara because of the curl and volume it gives my lashes.

Velour False Lashes in See Through \\ Did I mention I’m super nervous about doing my eye makeup? This might be the most nerve racking part for me. I have tried these a number of times and have gotten better, but it takes a lot of patience. I am hoping for a small miracle on the big day that these go on easily.

BlushWed (3) (800x533)

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush \\ The name pretty much says it all. I’m using the shade Dollface which is a really pretty pink. I’ve tried it out a few times and it does last forever, so I would recommend this brand of blush to anyone in the market – they have a huge range of colors.

BronzerWed (2) (800x533)

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer \\ My bronzer was the last thing I purchased – not because I had a hard time deciding, but because I feel like there are so many that I’ve tried and liked that I knew I couldn’t go wrong. I decided on this one because I really like the way it lays on my face. Added bonus, it smells just like chocolate.

HighlightWed (5)

Hourglass Ambient Light Powder \\ When I went into Sephora to buy this, the worker that was helping me said, “that highlight is amazing” when I picked it up, so I knew I had chosen a good one. I’m using the shade luminous light and it really is a very subtle highlight that gives you a glow-from-within look.

Brow Pencil \\ Brow GelWed (7) (800x533)

Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil \\ Of course I’m trusting my brows to no one other than the queen of brows. This pencil has been a staple of mine for about a year, so I will definitely be using it on my wedding day.

Anastasia Clear Brow Gel \\ This brow gel is the glue that keeps my brows together – of course it’s not real glue, but it could be. This locks the hairs in place, so hopefully when my hair is blowing in the wind from our wedding boat ride, my brows will remain on fleek . . . do people still say on fleek?

Lipstick \\ Lip GlossWed (8) (800x533)

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick \\ I’m using this creamy lipstick in the shade Merengue. This is a pinky-nude that trends more pink on me. I think it will be the perfect pop of color. I’ve been sneaking it into my every day routine here and there because I love the color and formula so much.

Bare Minerals Buttercream Lip Gloss \\ I didn’t want matte lips for my wedding day, so I’m pairing the lipstick with this gloss in the shade Forbidden and they go perfectly together.

And that’s it — just a few simple steps! (yes, that was sarcasm). Here’s hoping it all goes well.
