Beautiful Bellagio

There are no words to describe how amazing Lake Como is. It’s so serene, I’m a little sad we’re not spending more time here. Everyone told us we wouldn’t need this much time in Lake Como because the towns are so small, but I feel like I could spend well over a week exploring, relaxing, and eating our way through them all.

We rented a car for our trip to Laglio, and it was the best decision. Joe has been doing an excellent job driving on the windy mountain roads. We are trying to avoid using the data on our phones, so we’ve been navigating from old school directions and Italian street signs. It’s made for some very exciting adventures and a very good test of our patience. Plus, we’ve met some very friendly Italians as we’ve often had to jump out of the car every now and then to ask them to point us in the right direction.

We were super jet lagged when we arrived, but powered through so we were ready to take on our first full day. We drove up to Tremezzo, navigating the windy roads and dodging Italian bikers, where we took the ferry to Bellagio. Bellagio had such a good energy about it. It’s very crowded, much more so than where we are staying in Laglio, so it made for the perfect day trip. We explored the cobblestone streets, got lost in the alleyways, and explored the beautiful gardens. We stopped for lunch and I accidentally (or purposefully) ordered a half liter of wine for myself, which did make the exploring that much more fun. Then we headed back home for a quick dip in the hotel pool.

These photos of Lake Como can’t even do it justice. I’m so grateful we decided to start our trip here, and I already can’t wait to come back.
