It’s been a while since I did a beauty post, and I have to say I’m really excited to be back at it again! Since we’ve gotten home, I’ve ordered a few new beauty items that are currently on the way and I can’t wait to share them with you guys. In the meantime, I thought I would finally get around to unbagging May’s PLAY! Bag, since I’m a little late (& I just got June’s bag yesterday)! So let’s dive in together.
This is a gentle gel cleanser that gets nice and foamy when you’re washing your face. I was not super familiar with skin laundry before I received this, but I enjoyed using this product. Something about a foamy cleanser always makes me feel like my face is getting extra clean! It hasn’t caused any irritation to my skin so far. But, at $20 for a full a size bottle, I’ll be sticking with my Neutrogena cleanser once I run out of this.
I was skeptical of this Hungarian Water Essence from belief when I pulled it out of the bag. . . mostly because I was like, “water essence?!?!?!” After doing a little research, I learned that this is meant to be a long-lasting hydrating serum. You put it on after cleansing, but before moisturizing, to help hydrate the skin. After using it for the past week, I’m still skeptical. I don’t need a lot of moisture in my skin in the summer because I tend to be more oily, so I can’t tell if this is really doing anything extra for me. Maybe I’ll give it another shot come winter (winter is coming, after all).
I was super excited to see a hair mask as part of this months bag. After all our travel, my hair needed a refresh once we finally got home. I really enjoyed this Omega 9 Hair Mask by Rahua (another brand I was unfamiliar with). When I was applying it in the shower, it was really thin and almost watery. I’ve tried other hair masks in the past that are really thick and creamy (like Living Proof’s Restoring Mask Treatment) so I was surprised. But it was really lightweight and I feel like it hydrated and kept my hair smooth for the next several days. (The biggest problem I always have when it comes to these hair masks, what am I supposed to do for 10-15 minutes in the shower while it sets?!?!)
This Nudestix lip color is ultra long lasting. Even putting it on my hand like this, I had a stain for the rest of the day that I could not get off without makeup remover. I love a product with that kind of wear! My biggest gripe with this isn’t about the product itself, but really with Sephora because of the shade they sent me. This is a great FALL color, Sephora, and we are in the midst of Summer. I would have loved to receive Blossom or Rose to wear for the season. But, when the fall arrives (fall is coming just doesn’t have the same ring to it) I will be using this beauty.
This treStiQue Highlight Stick is a very pretty and subtle highlighter. It’s not a megawatt, blinding highlight, which is perfect for me because I love a subtle glow, especially in the summer time. I use my beauty blender to apply this and dab it along my cheek bones before applying powder. I have no complaints about this product!
I’m the first to admit I hate getting all these perfume samples when it comes to subscription services (it’s part of the reason I cancelled my Birchbox), but wow I really liked Tocca’s Stella Perfume. I am even considering purchasing it in full size. It’s fruity, light and just perfect for summer. It also is available in a body wash, lotion, sugar scrub, and liquid hand soap. If I had the budget, I’d be buying all five of them!
