Drugstore Find \\ NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

I always love a good drugstore find. We were in Walgreen’s the other day so I could get a passport photo to legally change my name on my passport (just as an aside, changing your name is such a pain!). To Joe’s dismay, I found my way to the beauty aisle as we were waiting for the photo to print, and I came across these soft matte lip creams from NYX. After swatching a few, I was intrigued and wanted to give them a shot!

The formula is pretty good for a drugstore find. I’d describe it as a mix between a lipstick and a lip gloss. It applies creamy and wears comfortably (hey, I bet that’s why they named them lip creams!), though you’ll definitely have to reapply throughout the day. But, for $6, I can’t really complain! Whereas most matte lips will dry you out throughout the day, this one doesn’t lose its creamy formula.

I bought two colors, Stockholm and Zurich. Be warned, the color when applied looked almostΒ nothing like the drugstore swatch. But, luckily, I still really liked them both.

Stockholm has a peachy, nude undertone.

Whereas Zurich is a more strawberry hue.

I’ll probably pick up more colors the next time I’m at the store – it’s just a really cheap and easy product for an everyday, comfortable lip.

  1. I’ve heard so much about the NYX soft matte lip creams but have never got my hands on one, might have to now to try it out… thanks for sharing this find πŸ™‚

  2. Great post! I have never tried any of the Soft Matte Lip Creams but I am obsessed with the butter glosses! I will have to throw a couple of these in my cart on ULTA.com and test them out! xoxo
